News Weblogs: What they
are and how to write them

Newspapers are becoming more involved online, including in the blogosphere, making it beneficial for journalists to become knowledgeable about blogging to remain qualified in their field, according to several journalists who are also bloggers.

As a way to counteract declining print sales, newspapers are building an active online presence, and many journalists write news Weblogs, besides writing stories for print, as a new way to cover their beats.

In a post on PoynterOnline, Amy Gahran, Tidbits editor for PoynterOnline, said journalists at any stage in their careers who hope to keep their jobs and stay relevant should “aspire to be as findable as possible” by establishing blogs. MORE>
