Steve King does double duty as a news and Navy photographer.

2-time photographer of year on
2nd stint as military photographer

By Ariana Figuera
Bulletin Staff

In May, Steve King, a photographer for Worcester (Mass.) Magazine, laid aside his photographer-of-the-year laurels to pick up a military uniform, trading local picture-taking for shots of the military in action as he headed overseas to work as a combat photographer.

King is in Kuwait and Iraq for a year-long deployment as part of his service in the Navy Reserve.

He is a member of a Navy team of combat photographers and videographers that provides video and still documentation of combat operations, exercises and events of historical significance. He will be shooting still photos of combat, training exercises and other tasks of importance to the Navy. MORE>
